Open Fora Announcement
The Office of Faculty Affairs will be hosting two Open Fora for faculty, staff, administration and the larger public community. This is an opportunity to offer thoughts and comments on the ideas presented in the ICJMT Steering Committee report and the creation of this unique entity.

ICJMT Initiative Update: Open Forum
The ICJMT (Information, Communication, Journalism, Media and Technology) Steering Committee welcomes you to attend an Open Forum. This event will provide an opportunity for the community to provide input as we make progress towards creating a vision for an ICJMT entity on the Boulder campus.
All are welcome to attend on Wednesday, February 8, 5:00pm to 6:30pm in the UMC, Room 415.
Associate Vice Chancellor Jeff Cox will facilitate the event and once again offer a historical perspective before describing the currentstatus of the process. The Steering Committee will be present to answer any questions.
The public, as well as the entire campus are welcome and encouraged to attend.

On September 22, 2011 the ICJMT Initiative held an open forum in the Aspen Rooms at the University Memorial Center. The event began at 5:00 p.m. and ended at 7:00 p.m. There were representatives from the Steering Committee as well as the individual Discussion Groups present. The public was welcomed to attend, as was the university community, and to bring forward ideas and comments at this point in the process. The event was taped for anyone who was not able to attend and we have made that recording available here.

We are excited to announce the next step in the creation of a new school or college that will engage in the areas of information, communication, journalism, media and technology (ICJMT).
In June, Provost Moore established a Steering Committee made up of five faculty members, one liason from the ICT Exploratory Committee and AVC Jeff Cox as the liason from Academic Affairs. In addition there were eight Discussion Groups established to solicit and collect feedback and suggestions from the faculty. The groups are charged with collecting and then presenting their recommendations to the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee will take this information and begin to organize the content areas of the new entity.
The Discussion Groups are now ready to invite faculty to meet and discuss the different educational and academic dimensions.
The Discussion Groups are listed below, along with a contact for each group. If you are not able to attend the scheduled meetings, please don’t hesitate to contact the lead individual to set up an individual meeting and/or to give your thoughts and feedback to this process. Now is the time for you to contribute to this exciting initiative and we welcome all interested faculty to participate.
